Rajaa Elidrissi is a Moroccan-American journalist based in Queens, New York. She currently works for Vox video as a researcher and reporter that specializes in global issues and foreign affairs. Through her reporting, she’s helped Vox producers create in-depth video explainers on topics like Cairo’s new capital, Colombia’s coffee crisis, corruption in Lebanon and the expulsion of Palestinians. She’s also produced videos on wars in Sudan, Gaza, Ukraine and Afghanistan.

She holds an M.S. from Columbia Journalism School’s investigative program. At Columbia, her reporting focused on domestic investigations, like ICE’s COVID-19 testing protocols in Louisiana. During her program, she led a partnership between Columbia, THE CITY, and Vox for a video and investigation about burials on Hart Island. She also holds a B.A. from Wesleyan University, where she studied anthropology and Middle Eastern studies.

Elidrissi currently serves on the board of the Arab and Middle Eastern Journalists Association, an organization dedicated to supporting a flourishing community of SWANA heritage journalists, and teaches an international reporting course at Wesleyan University.
